Introducing FibreRoute: A dedicated, robust fiber optic pathway system
The new Nexans FibreRoute pathway system, introduced in March 2018, offers a comprehensive solution to contain, protect, and manage all fibers across the data center. In addition to preventing damage to fibers, FibreRoute improves access and streamlines space management. Suitable for all types of data center environments, the FibreRoute system provides multiple trunking sizes and adapters to accommodate a wide variety of architectures and data center deployments.
“We wanted to create a system that could offer the highest levels of protection and deployment flexibility, while minimizing operational cost for the customer,” says Brooke Ford, Product Manager – Fiber Connectivity, Nexans Data Center Solutions. “FibreRoute ticks all of those boxes, and is also very easy to configure, order, and deploy. And with the launch of FibreRoute, we further augment our product portfolio for data centers, extending what Nexans can provide as a Layer One solution partner.”
Online planning tool & streamlined order processing
One of the goals in developing the FibreRoute pathway system was to keep things simple and enable rapid deployment. This applies to how customers install the product, the quantity and variation of the components they have to manage in their inventory, and how they design a system.
Customers can use the FibreRoute online planning tool to quickly determine the required system components, with automated imports of PDF or ACAD drawings to scale, drag-and-drop system components, and quick-click access to component data sheets within the planning tool, along with layers and toggles, and elevation and section views.
Once the design is complete, the tool creates a bill of material that can be directly used to generate an order. If customers prefer, Nexans can also help with the design. Installation is equally simple, says Brooke: “With tool-less connections and quick reconfiguration of all system routing components, it’s easy and flexible to implement the FibreRoute system,” he says.

More new products for Q1/Q2
In addition to FibreRoute, Nexans continues to add to the breadth of its Layer One portfolio with a roster of new products launched in Q1 and Q2. Here’s a brief listing:
